Frequently asked questions
Is this text diff checker free?
Yes — completely free, with no sign-up and no watermark.
Is my text uploaded anywhere?
No. The comparison runs entirely in your browser — neither piece of text ever leaves your device.
What's the difference between word and line mode?
Word mode highlights individual words that changed within a paragraph — good for comparing sentences or short edits. Line mode compares whole lines at a time — better for comparing lists, code or documents where lines were added, removed or reordered.
What do the colours mean?
Struck-through text was removed from the original, and underlined text was added in the changed version. Text with neither style is unchanged.
Can it compare two files?
Not directly — paste the text content from each file into the two boxes. Most word processors and PDF tools let you select and copy the text you want to compare.
