Privacy Policy
Last updated: 27 September 2026
This policy explains what happens to your data when you use PapaTools. The short version: your files and text stay on your device, we don't ask you to create an account, and we collect as little as technically possible.
Your files and text
The tools on this site process your data in your browser using your device's own computing power. Images you compress, PDFs you merge, text you convert, passwords you generate — none of it is uploaded to our servers, stored by us, or visible to us.
Tools that download a model
A few tools — the background remover and background changer — run an AI model locally in your browser. The model file is downloaded once from its provider's content delivery network and then cached by your browser, so that provider sees a standard file request from your device. No part of your photo is ever sent with it; the image itself is processed entirely on your device, the same as every other tool here.
Data stored on your device
Some tools save your in-progress work (for example, a biodata or resume draft) in your browser's local storage so you don't lose it between visits. This data stays on your device, is never transmitted to us, and you can clear it at any time through your browser settings.
What we do collect
Like nearly every website, our hosting infrastructure keeps standard server logs (IP address, browser type, pages requested) for security and reliability. We use analytics only to understand which tools are useful, never to profile you, and we do not sell or share personal data.
- Vercel Web Analyticsruns for every visitor. It uses no cookies and stores nothing on your device, and it counts page views, country, device type and the referring site as anonymous totals that can't be tied back to you.
- Google Analyticsruns only if you choose “Accept all” or switch on “Usage insights” in the cookie settings. It gives us more detailed usage reports and sets cookies to do so (see below). Google processes this data under its own privacy policy.
Error monitoring
When a tool fails unexpectedly, we send an error report to Sentry so we can find and fix the bug. A report contains the technical error, the page and tool it happened on, your browser and operating system, and — for file tools — the file's type and size. It never contains your files, their names, or anything you typed, and it doesn't record your IP address or use cookies. We rely on our legitimate interest in keeping the tools working, so this runs without asking for consent.
The currency converter fetches the latest exchange rates from a public rates service, so that service sees a standard request from your device. The amounts you convert are never sent.
Cookies
The site works fully without cookies. The only cookies we use are Google Analytics' _ga and _ga_*, which distinguish visits and last up to two years. They are set only if you opt in. Until you do — or if you leave “Usage insights” off under Customize — Google Analytics never loads.
Your choice is saved in your browser's local storage, not a cookie. To change it at any time, use Cookie settings in the footer of any page. Withdrawing consent deletes the Google Analytics cookies and stops it loading.
Third-party links
Some pages link to external sites. Their privacy practices are their own — this policy covers only PapaTools.

If this policy changes, the date above will be updated. Questions? Contact us — we read everything.
