Frequently asked questions

What characters are supported?

Letters A–Z, digits 0–9, and common punctuation (period, comma, question mark, apostrophe, slash, parentheses, equals and plus). Anything with no Morse code — accented letters, emoji, other alphabets — is left out of the result and listed underneath, so what you copy is always valid Morse.

What separates letters and words in Morse?

Letters within a word are separated by a single space; words are separated by a slash ( / ) surrounded by spaces. When decoding, use this same format.

How does the audio playback work?

Audio is generated with the Web Audio API built into your browser — no files are downloaded. The WPM slider sets the speed: 5 WPM is beginner pace, 20 WPM is conversational speed.

Is there a length limit?

There is no hard limit, but very long texts take proportionally longer to play back. The audio is generated for up to 500 characters at a time.
