Frequently asked questions
Is this Lorem Ipsum generator free?
Yes — completely free, with no sign-up and no watermark.
What is Lorem Ipsum?
Lorem Ipsum is placeholder (or “dummy”) text used in design and publishing to fill a layout so you can focus on the look without being distracted by real content. It's based on a scrambled passage of classical Latin.
Why start with “Lorem ipsum dolor sit amet”?
That's the traditional opening everyone recognises as placeholder text. You can switch it off if you'd rather every word be randomised.
Does it generate new text each time?
Yes — the words and sentence lengths are randomised, so clicking Generate again gives you a fresh block of text with the same amount you asked for.
Is anything sent to a server?
No. The text is generated right in your browser, so it works offline and nothing is uploaded.
