About the 301 Redirect Generator
Turn a list of old and new URLs into ready-to-paste Nginx, Apache (.htaccess) and Next.js redirect rules — all in your browser with no upload.
How to use the 301 Redirect Generator
- 1Add a row for each old page and where it should now redirect to.
- 2Choose permanent (301) or temporary (302) — permanent is right for pages that have moved for good.
- 3Switch between Nginx, Apache and Next.js to get the format your site uses.
- 4Copy the snippet into your server config (or `next.config`) and deploy — nothing is uploaded.
Frequently asked questions
Is this redirect generator free?
Yes — completely free, with no sign-up and no watermark.
Is my content uploaded anywhere?
No. The redirect rules are built entirely in your browser — nothing you type is sent anywhere.
When should I use a 301 instead of a 302?
Use a 301 (permanent) when a page has moved for good — it tells search engines to transfer the old page's ranking to the new one. Use a 302 (temporary) if the move is short-term, like during maintenance, since it doesn't transfer ranking.
Where do I put the Nginx or Apache snippet?
The Nginx snippet goes inside a `server { }` block in your site's Nginx config. The Apache snippet goes in your site's `.htaccess` file (or virtual host config) — both need a server reload/restart to take effect.
How does the Next.js snippet work?
Paste the `redirects()` function inside the object exported from `next.config`, alongside any other settings you already have there. It only takes effect after you rebuild and redeploy the site.
