How much does minifying JSON reduce file size?
It depends on the original formatting. Deeply indented JSON can shrink by 30–60% after minification since whitespace can dominate file size.
Does minification change the data?
No — only insignificant whitespace (spaces, tabs, newlines between tokens) is removed. Values, keys and data types are preserved exactly.
