About the Image Converter
Convert images between JPG, PNG and WebP right in your browser — batch-convert several at once with adjustable quality and no upload.
How to use the Image Converter
- 1Drop in one or more images, paste one, or click to browse — JPG, PNG, WebP and iPhone HEIC all work, and everything is converted on your device.
- 2Choose the format you want: JPG, PNG or WebP. For JPG and WebP, set a quality level to balance file size against sharpness.
- 3Each image shows its new size and dimensions, and flags anything worth knowing — a file that grew, or transparency that JPG had to fill in.
- 4Download images one at a time, or grab every converted copy at once as a ZIP.
Frequently asked questions
Is this image converter free?
Yes — completely free with no sign-up, no watermark and no limit on how many images you convert.
Are my images uploaded to a server?
No. Conversion runs entirely in your browser — your images never leave your device and nothing is stored on our servers.
Which formats can I convert between?
You can convert JPG, PNG, WebP and HEIC images to JPG, PNG or WebP. JPG is best for photos, PNG keeps transparency and sharp edges, and WebP gives the smallest files at good quality. Browsers can't write HEIC, so it's an input format only.
What happens to transparency when I convert a PNG to JPG?
JPG doesn't support transparency, so any transparent areas are filled with white. The tool checks each image for a real alpha channel and tells you exactly which ones were affected, so you're never surprised by it after downloading. Convert to PNG or WebP instead if you need to keep transparency.
Why does it say my file was “left untouched”?
Because it was already in the format you picked. Re-encoding a JPG as a JPG throws away quality for nothing and often makes the file bigger, so the tool hands back the original bytes instead. If you wanted a smaller file rather than a different format, use the Image Compressor.
Why did my image get bigger?
Usually because you converted a photo to PNG. PNG is lossless, which is ideal for logos, screenshots and sharp edges, but for photographs it commonly produces a file several times larger than the JPG or WebP original. The tool labels any result that grew so you can decide whether that's what you wanted.
Can I convert HEIC photos from my iPhone?
Yes — drop in a HEIC or HEIF file and it's decoded in your browser, then converted to JPG, PNG or WebP like any other image. The first HEIC file loads a small decoder, so it may take a moment. Note that HEIC is decoded via JPG, so a PNG made from a HEIC photo won't be truly lossless — the tool says so when that applies.
Can I convert several images at once?
Yes. Drop in as many as you like — they're converted a few at a time so the page stays responsive, each one updates as it finishes, and you can download the whole batch as a single ZIP.
