Frequently asked questions

What HTML elements are converted to Markdown?

Headings (h1–h6), paragraphs, bold, italic, links, images, code blocks, inline code, blockquotes, ordered and unordered lists, horizontal rules and tables.

Are inline styles and class names preserved?

No — Markdown has no concept of CSS. Inline styles, class attributes and other HTML-specific features are stripped. The semantic content (headings, links, emphasis) is preserved.

Will converting Markdown to HTML and back give the same Markdown?

Not always — the round-trip converts semantics, not exact syntax. For example, a '**bold**' might come back as '**bold**' or '__bold__' depending on the converter.

Is my content uploaded anywhere?

No. Conversion uses the turndown and marked libraries loaded in your browser — nothing leaves your device.
