What is the difference between km/L and L/100km?
km/L (kilometres per litre) measures how far you travel on one litre of fuel — higher is better. L/100km (litres per 100 kilometres) measures how much fuel you use over 100 km — lower is better. Indian vehicles typically use km/L; European vehicles use L/100km. This tool accepts both and converts automatically.
How is the monthly fuel cost calculated?
The monthly cost uses your fuel efficiency and price to find the cost per km, then multiplies by your monthly distance. The annual cost is the monthly cost × 12. Change the monthly distance field to match your actual driving habits.
What is a typical fuel efficiency for Indian vehicles?
Petrol hatchbacks typically achieve 15–20 km/L on highways and 12–15 km/L in city traffic. Motorcycles and scooters range from 40–60 km/L. Diesel SUVs average 12–18 km/L. Your actual mileage depends on load, traffic, tyre pressure, and driving style.
