How do I calculate a discount?
Multiply the original price by the discount percentage divided by 100 to get the amount saved, then subtract that from the original price. For example, 20% off $50 saves $10, giving a final price of $40.
How do I find the discount percentage from the sale price?
Use the “find the discount %” mode. It works out the percentage as (original − sale) ÷ original × 100 — so an item marked down from $50 to $40 has a 20% discount.
Does this include sales tax?
No — it calculates the discount only. If you also need to add a tax like GST or VAT, use a dedicated tax calculator on the discounted price.
