How do I find X% of a number?
Use the first mode and multiply: X% of Y equals (X ÷ 100) × Y. For example, 20% of 150 is (20 ÷ 100) × 150 = 30.
How do I calculate percentage increase or decrease?
Use the third mode. The percentage change is (new − old) ÷ old × 100. A positive result is an increase, a negative result is a decrease.
What's the difference between the three modes?
The first finds a percentage of a number. The second tells you what percentage one number is of another. The third measures how much a value went up or down in percentage terms.
