Frequently asked questions
Is this calorie calculator free?
Yes — completely free, with no sign-up and no watermark.
Is my data uploaded anywhere?
No. Your details are used only in your browser — nothing is sent anywhere.
What are BMR and TDEE?
BMR (Basal Metabolic Rate) is the calories your body burns at complete rest just to stay alive. TDEE (Total Daily Energy Expenditure) is your BMR multiplied by an activity factor — roughly the calories you burn in a full day, and what you'd eat to maintain your current weight.
Which formula does it use?
It uses the Mifflin–St Jeor equation, the modern standard for estimating BMR, then applies the standard activity multipliers (1.2 for sedentary up to 1.9 for very active) to get TDEE.
How accurate is it?
It's a well-regarded estimate, but everyone's metabolism differs, so treat it as a starting point. For weight change, adjust gradually and consult a healthcare professional for personalised advice.
