About the Watermark Image

Add a text watermark to your photos to protect them — choose the position, size, colour and opacity, or tile it across the image, all in your browser.

How to use the Watermark Image

  1. 1Drop in a photo, paste one, or click to browse — JPG, PNG, WebP and iPhone HEIC all work, and nothing is uploaded.
  2. 2Type your watermark text, or upload a logo image to use instead.
  3. 3Pick a position — a corner, the centre, or tiled across the whole photo — then set the size and opacity.
  4. 4Check the file size on the button and click Download to save the watermarked image.

Frequently asked questions

Is this watermark tool free?

Yes — completely free with no sign-up and no watermark of ours added. Watermark as many photos as you like.

Are my photos uploaded to a server?

No. The watermark is drawn entirely in your browser — your photo never leaves your device and nothing is stored on our servers.

Will the watermark show up on a white background?

Yes. A soft halo in the opposite colour is drawn behind the watermark, so white text stays readable on a bright photo and black text on a dark one. That means you can keep the opacity low and subtle instead of turning it up until it's obtrusive everywhere else in the frame.

What does the tiled option do?

It repeats the watermark diagonally across the entire image, corner to corner. That's much harder to crop out than a single mark in one corner, which makes it the better choice for proofs, previews and anything you're sharing before payment.

Can I use my own logo?

Yes — switch to Logo and upload an image. A PNG with a transparent background works best, since the transparency is preserved and the logo sits over the photo rather than in a box. Very tall logos are scaled down to fit inside the frame.

Does watermarking reduce the image quality?

The image is re-saved, so a JPG is re-compressed once. Use the quality slider to control that, or choose PNG for a lossless copy — the download button shows the resulting file size before you save, so you can weigh the two.

Does a watermark stop people stealing my photo?

It makes casual reuse obvious and awkward, which is usually the point. It isn't unremovable — a determined person can crop or edit one out, and a corner mark is easier to remove than a tiled one. Treat it as a deterrent and a way to have your name travel with the image, not as protection.
